From the Backbench to Bold Moves – My Journey of Confidence

Zuveriya, the backbencher always choosing the last bench, avoiding eye contact with teachers, and staying silent in class. Answering questions? That was never my thing. I was scared of speaking up, scared of getting it wrong.

But one day, something changed. It was a Marathi period, and the teacher asked a question. For some reason, I answered. I was the only girl who did. My teacher looked at me, smiled, and said, “Proud of you! Very good.” That moment was a revelation Wow, I can give answers! Why don’t I do this more often?

Fast forward to last year, when I joined Let’s Enterprise, and my life took a turn. Let’s Enterprise isn’t just a program; it’s about real-life experiences, stepping out of your comfort zone, and learning by doing. But for someone like me a backbencher it was terrifying. Talking to people, meeting new faces, and speaking up felt like an impossible task.

The Kickstart Challenge  My First Big Step

One of my first challenges was the Kickstart Challenge a task where we had to double our money by doing anything. Our team decided to sell different products, and I contributed by selling Boba drinks, Modaks, and posters. We worked together, strategized, and hustled. But the biggest challenge for me? Pitching the products to customers.

It was horrible. I was nervous, my voice was shaky, and my mind kept telling me to step back. But I didn’t. I pushed through. And when I finally did it Yayyy! the fear started fading. My batchmates noticed my efforts and appreciated my progress, which felt like a huge win.

Discovering My Strengths in Marketing

After the Kickstart Challenge, I got the opportunity to contribute to #Karo, our flagship event. The previous batch had pulled off an amazing event, and now it was our turn. I joined the social media team, where I edited reels, made cold calls, and reached out to people to attend.

This wasn’t just about helping the event—it made me feel responsible. I realized I actually enjoyed the process of marketing—getting people interested, creating engaging content, and reaching out to the right audience.

Facing My Fears Pune Kabir Festival

Recently, I worked on Pune Kabir Festival outreach, and this time, the challenge was even bigger. I had to go out and approach strangers, schools, and local communities to talk about the event

The fear was real. Will they even listen to me? What if they ignore me? But I reminded myself of everything I had overcome so far. Instead of stepping back, I took a step forward. And guess what? I did it. I talked to people, convinced them, and realized I can do anything if I try.

No More Hesitation

Looking back, there’s one thing in common in every experience I took a step forward instead of stepping back.

The backbencher Zuveriya, who once hesitated to answer in class, can now confidently speak up, pitch ideas, and connect with people. I’m no longer afraid of trying.

Because confidence isn’t about knowing all the answers it’s about taking that first step. And I’m so glad I did.
